The assembly instructions had me using a bolt, two washers, and a locknut on each leg to hold it in place. Problem is, that means that the legs will wear on the sideplates. Not a good idea. I bought 8 more flat stainless steel washers and slipped those washers in between the legs and the sidepanels. Now the legs will wear on the washers instead of the sideplates. This makes the leg securing assembly consist of the bolt head, washer, sideplate, washer, leg, washer, other sideplate, washer, then the locknut. So each of the legs now has 4 washers: two washers on the outside of the side panels, and two washers to keep the leg from rubbing on the sidewall directly. Again, don't overtighten, or the workbench won't fold up.
First, let me tell you what turns me on the most about a really, really clean bike. I drive up to a friend's place and get the same reaction I've gotten since I started riding 38 years ago, "man is that all you ever do is clean that thing"? No, I reply, my wife cleans it for me. It's worth it just to see them turn that funny shade of green. No, my wife doesn't clean my bike and that isn't all I ever do. I'm like anyone else I'd rather ride the thing. So why don't we get right to it, shall we?
Now use a grease pencil and mark tile to be cut. If you only have a few cuts you can even take them to Lowes and have the tech cut alone your lines but you better be good. Now let this all dry if you have any areas where you did not install the tile do to it is not cut yet, use a putty knife and scrape the wall clean. It is much easier to clean now while wet than after it dry's clean all your tools. And let it sit for 24 hours. Come back and mix your grout, modern grout's have dry acrylic in them already but manufacturers vary so check read the label you might have to add wet additive. Now the trowel that puts grout on the wall is a hard rubber bottom that is real smooth.
Long gone are the days when buying something from a different state - let alone a different country - would be an exotic or adventurous concept. It has now become an everyday experience to order something from an online store, wait a few days and then, hey presto, it's arrived as if by magic. You could be buying the latest mass-produced high-tech from Best Buy, a vintage, secondhand product from a seller on either eBay or eCRATER, or a uniquely upcycled handmade item from a creative craft maker located on the other side of the world via Etsy.
Everything comes down to marketing. You are married because you market to your mate enough to be married. Your kids don't hate you because you market to them just enough that they don't hate you. The big Secret is to learn marketing, and you can plug in what ever you like, and it will succeed. Towing a trailer with signs behind your bike is different enough that it will get noticed!
You do not have to have a compressor, some people prefer to use a CO2 bottle, but that seems somewhat expensive. Some of the discount tool companies (like Harbor Freight) stock inexpensive compressors. Probably the most import thing to a good finish is good surface preparation. In other words a good clean. Smooth surface. As I have gotten older I have developed a tendency to prime the surface and after that dries well to sand it with very fine grit paper. Try 3200, 2500, in that range.
